Job price calculator
What a job really costs you — crew time, the drive, materials, overhead — and what to quote for the profit you want.
Know what every job kept
In CrewDocket your rates live in your price book, so quotes start priced — and Profit shows what each job kept after crew pay and expenses.
What’s the difference between markup and margin?
Markup is added on top of what the job costs you; margin is the share of the price that’s profit. A 25% margin means a quarter of what the customer pays is profit — which takes a 33% markup on cost. The calculator works in margin.
What goes in overhead?
What it costs to run the business that no single job pays for: insurance, the truck, fuel, gear, phones, software. Add up a year of it, divide by a year of billing, and that’s your percentage.
Should travel time count?
Yes. The crew is paid for the drive, so the job has to pay for it.
How does CrewDocket help with pricing?
Your price book holds your rates, so every quote starts priced. Profit shows what each job actually kept after crew pay and expenses — so you can see which prices are working.
